Young authors from the Caribbean region, born between January 1, 1991 and December 31, 2002, can take part in the 34th Prix International du Jeune Écrivain de Langue Française (International Prize for Young French Writers). The deadline for the submission of works is February 1, 2018.
On September 28, the list of 12 winners of the Prix du Jeune Écrivain de Langue Française (year 2017) was announced. Among them is the young Haitian author, Phew Laroc (25-years-old). He is an example for our young people.
If you live in the Caribbean, you are between 15 and 27 years old, you like writing and you dream of being published and read one day, you can participate in the 34th edition of this literary competition.
Created in 1984 in the commune of Muret in the department of Haute-Garonne in France by the teacher Marc Sebbah and the journalist Henri Beulay, the Prix du Jeune Écrivain de Langue Française rewards, every year, twelve young authors. The quality of the works is judged by an international jury composed of renowned French-language writers.
In more than 30 years of existence, the Prix du Jeune Écrivain de Langue Française already received more than 25,000 manuscripts from more than 100 countries; it brought together over a hundred writers in its juries; more than 300 prize-winners were published in 32 collections; 87 of them started a career in writing, some are now famous.
Various awards will be given to the lucky winners. The 12 short stories will make up a collection that will be published by Éditions Buchet/Chatel, in March 2018, during the Paris Book Fair. In addition, the prize-winners will be invited for a week of literary meetings in Paris, Toulouse and Muret, at the time of the publication of the collection.
So, whatever your nationality, you have until February 1, 2018 to send your work (tales, short stories or narratives) written in French to the association Le Prix du Jeune Écrivain.
