The Créolitan Gallery presents “D’après une légende…”

“D’après une légende…” (According to a Legend…) is the new exhibition on view from June 6 to 30, 2026, at the Créolitan Contemporary Art Gallery, located in the town of Baie-Mahault in Guadeloupe.

To tell this story, the exhibition’s two designers – Vanessa Hunt and Franck Thévenaud (ex Concept’Art Gallery) – have selected eight artists: Thierry Alet (painting) / Yves Bercion (digital art) / Rodrigues Glombard (painting) / Alain Joséphine (painting) / Felie Line Lucol (painting) / Florence Poirier (mixed media) / Jérôme Sainte-Luce (painting, objects) / Micheline Souprayen (mixed media).

“Like an introduction to a wonderful tale, this new artistic proposal explores the themes of myth and oral tradition in contemporary West Indian art. Often built with facts, storytelling, and moral lessons, mythology is a real anchor in Caribbean history. Beliefs and unspoken things play a key role in the construction of the Creole imagination and reveal a unique and universal contemporary artistic language. Poetic and striking creations await discovery at the gallery, featuring a selection of forty works in painting, mixed media, and digital art”, they explain.

A prestigious preview evening will be held on Thursday, June 4, at 6:00 pm, attended by numerous artists.

Exhibition hours: Thursday, Friday, Saturday 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm
