Santo Domingo Pop returns to celebrate Dominican talent

The event will gather on February 2 and 3, the most eminent, important and transcendent artists from different disciplines of national art. It will take place in the National Botanical Garden with proposals for the whole family.

The month of February brings back one of the most interesting and complete events in the Dominican Republic. The second edition of Santo Domingo Pop will take place on February 2 and 3 and will give to the Dominicans an open air, unprecedented and unique art festival, with the aim of educating, entertaining, promoting and preserving what is ours.

In this way, the National Botanical Garden, from 3:00 in the afternoon, will begin these two days, when eight concerts, six plays, six dance performances and fifteen exhibitions of photography, painting and illustration will take place. In addition to offering recreational and specialized spaces, such as craft, design, discs and books shops, there will be restaurants with proposals designed especially for the occasion, and an area for the youngest of the family.

“We never had the opportunity to enjoy a concert with Covi Quintana, appreciate a painting exhibition by the maestro Guillo Pérez or let us be carried away by a dance show, all in one day, and in an outdoor park”, said Nono Rodríguez, producer of Santo Domingo Pop, with his company Once and Once. “Nothing similar had ever happened in our country and at the same time”, he added.

Riccie Oriach, Covi Quintana, Mark B, Víctor Víctor, La Marimba, Solo Fernández and Rando Camasta will be the artists on stage that will put music to this great festival. Meanwhile, Poteleche, Norca Amézquita and Angurria, will surprise with their artistic creations; and Wifredo García, Alejandro Núñez, Roger Zayas and Hilda Pellerano, will do the same with pictures captured through their creative lenses.

But that’s not all. Theater (with plays by Lía Briones and Shei Lee), dance (through performances by Joel Rodríguez, María Emilia García and Eliosmayquer Orozco Garbey), literature (with representatives such as Pedro Genaro, Miguel Yarull, Alexis Méndez, Anya Damirón and Kenya Roque) and plastic arts (with the collection of the Cultural Heritage Foundation of the General management of Customs, Guillo Pérez and Lizander Jiménez) will be part of this attractive and multidisciplinary meeting.

The tickets for the event, which will be carried out thanks to the support of Banco BHD León, Blue Moon beer, Retajila Foundation, the Customs General Management, Milex, Caribbean Cinemas, Cortés Hermanos, Downtown Center and Chavón School of Design, are already on sale at Uepa Tickets, National Supermarkets, Jumbo and TIX.DO.
