This “International French Teachers’ Day” will take place on November 25. Several online events will be organized by the University Agency for Francophonie Caribbean, based in Haiti.
On Saturday November 20, starting at 3.30 pm, Radio France Internationale (RFI) will interview Saulo Neiva. In this programme entitled “Kozé Kilti”, hosted by Ritzamarum Zetrenne and broadcast on the website of the French world radio station, the Director of the AUF Caribbean will speak, among other things, about the main activities of the Agency within the framework of the JIPF 2021 as well as the White Paper on the Scientific Francophonie. This programme will be rebroadcast on Sunday November 21 at 1.30 pm and 8.30 pm (Haiti time).
On Wednesday 24 November at 2:00 pm (Haiti time), a webinar will be held on the following theme : “Repairing the world: Caribbean literatures”. This online meeting (Zoom & Facebook) will feature well-known writers from our region, namely : Yannick Lahens (Haiti, Prix Fémina 2014) ; Raphaël Confiant (Martinique, Prix RFO 1998) ; Gisèle Pineau (Guadeloupe, Grand Prix des Lectrices Elle 1994) and Kettly Mars (Haiti, Prix du Prince Claus 2011). Alexandre Gefen from the CNRS Sorbonne Nouvelle / Fabula will be in charge of mediation.

In addition, the educational file related to the theme of the webinar will be available to the general public on the official website of the AUF from November 24 at 3:00 pm (Haiti time).
On November 24 and 25, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Haiti time), you are all invited to come and test your knowledge during the quiz on the International French Teachers’ Day which will be broadcasted on the Facebook page of the AUF : Facebook AUF Caraïbe. The winners will be picked at random and their names will be revealed afterwards ; the 1st prize will win 200 euros, the 2nd prize, 100 euros.
On Thursday November 25, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm (Haiti time), a workshop will be organized on the theme of “Comics as a pedagogical tool: French and interculturality in plates, frames and bubbles”. It will be moderated by trainer François Weigel from the Federal University of Rio Grande de Norte (UFRN). A few words about the University Agency for Francophonie…
Created 60 years ago, the AUF is one of the largest associations of higher education and research institutions in the world. It is the operator for the higher education and the research of the Summit of the Francophonie allowing it to implement, in its field of competence, the resolutions adopted by the Conference of the heads of State and government of the French-speaking countries.
To date, the AUF brings together 1007 universities, major schools, university networks and scientific research centres using the French language in 119 countries.
