Da Republik 3Dominican urban dance group Da Republik stars in the new music video for the song “World On Fire” by Australian duo For King & Country, a single that marks the return of the Christian band formed by brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone.

Four-time Grammy Award winners, together with composer Taylor Hill, created this song, that went viral thanks to the contagious choreography designed by dancer Jonathan Castillo, co-founder of Núcleo Extremo.

Da Republik 2The video tells the story of a teenager running through the streets of Santo Domingo holding a cable that has fallen from the sky. While brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone sleep on a beach in San Pedro de Macorís, the boy connects the cable to a large structure, symbolizing the desire to reconnect the world with heaven.

Adrián Jiménez, Bryan Cedeño, Carlos David Mejía (Moro), Edwin Mora, Jen Vargas, Juan Rafael Santana (Yani), Junior Rodríguez (Fox), Kevin Polanco, Laythan Castillo, Lia Gabriela Castillo, Lia Valeria Heredia, María Carvajal, María Gabriela Contreras, Naomi Severino, and Shary Montero were the dancers who gave life to the vibrant choreography.

Da Republik 4“After being contacted by Kadin Tooley, creative director of the project, Jonathan created the choreography for the entire video, including the high-impact final segment performed by the professional dancers from Da Republik. In addition, Jonathan created a simple choreography for the pre-chorus, designed so that the global audience could reproduce it. That section became viral on social networks since the premiere; people from different countries are doing the steps from ‘World On Fire'”, explained Larybel Olivero, director of the Núcleo Extremo academy.

The brothers Joel and Luke Smallbone also emphasized that they were impressed by Da Republik’s talent, highlighting their status as world champions and their pride in having them in the video.
