The 14th edition of the Caribbean Festival of Arts (CARIFESTA), which will be held from August 16 to 25, 2019, will culminate on Saturday, August 24 with a mega concert at Queen’s Park Savannah in the capital Port of Spain where Trinidadian Machel Montano, Guadeloupean group (with also Martinican members) Kassav’ and Jamaican Shaggy will share the stage. Through the selection of these three internationally known headliners, the organizers surely want to show that, despite the smallness of our islands, our artistic talents are tremendous. The current king of soca Machel Montano and the guitarist and founder of Kassav’ Jacob Desvarieux certainly will perform their hit intitled “Dancè” which is a mix of soca and zouk with Creole and English lyrics and a perfect example of collaboration between our artists despite the language barrier…

Other artists such as Trinidadian Queen of soca Calypso Rose, Ricardo Drew from Antigua as well as Neval Chatenal, Nishard Mayrhoo and Nailah Blackman (CARIFESTA brand ambassadors) will also perform at the Islands Beats Super Concert. In addition, the festival’s Secretariat intends to promote a new talent through the IShine Soca Star singing competition since the winner will have the opportunity to sing during this closing concert alongside big Caribbean stars.

Tickets for this great event that will highlight the richness of our musical rhythms (soca, zouk, reggae, dance hall, calypso etc.) have been on sale since May on http://Suntixx.com/.
