Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe: Jean-Michel Rotin, the inventor of zouk-R&B, gave his show

On last Monday November 19, from 8:30 pm to 10:00 pm, as part of the finish of the transatlantic race between the cities of Saint-Malo (France) and Pointe-à-Pitre (Guadeloupe) – the Route du Rhum-Destination Guadeloupe – the artistic stage at the Memorial ACTe host Guadeloupean singer, Jean-Michel Rotin. The one who created zouk-R&B twenty years ago has been living in London (Great Britain) for several years and, it is always with a lot of pleasure that his fans are at his concerts when he is on his island.

In front of his audience who is following him since his debut in music in the 1980s with “Energy”, a band that he left after to start his solo career, Jean-Michel Rotin sang several of his hits such as “Lè ou lov”, “Cigarèt”, “Stop” “Señorita Dièz”, “Péyi Bondyé” etc. In spite of the passing years, the artist showed that he kept all his agility: he danced almost all his songs and even did the splits… It must be said that Jean-Michel Rotin belongs to this generation of artists who started in show business when the great Michael Jackson was at the top of his art and also an example to all…

The singer was accompanied by “Tanmpo”, a new band which everybody is talking about because it performs in a well-known night club in Baie-Mahault with zouk celebrities and is made up of talented musicians such as pianist Jean-Michel Lesdel, drummer Jérôme Castry etc.

Jean-Michel Rotin does not talk a lot on stage but with his eyes, his dance steps or his voice, he was in perfect symbiosis with his fans and it was a pleasure to take pictures of this true showman…
