Merenguero Jandy Ventura was invited to participate with his orchestra in the Christmas Lighting of the town of Juana Díaz in Puerto Rico, in a packet room in the Public Square that attracted the presence of thousands of Puerto Ricans who enjoyed the extensive repertoire of the Caballo Mayor.
Jandy, who presented El Legado (the Legacy) of Johnny Ventura, felt the affection that his father received on the of Enchanted Island, a land that he always considered his second homeland and precisely the last stage outside the country, which saw him present his 65-year career at Coliseo José Miguel Agrelot in 2019.
The surprise of the evening was the appearance of Grupo Manía, an icon of the island, who came to share the stage with Ventura to sing together the song “Salsa Pa Tú Lechón”, which three years ago these guys sang and recorded a new version with the legendary merenguero considered the National Industry of joy.
Héctor Banchy Serrano, leader of the group, took the opportunity to present Junior, Roberto del Castillo and Jandy Ventura the jackets they wore at the Ventura concert, where they were part of the artistic line-up that accompanied him. Each jacket symbolizes the respect and admiration for the man who now assumes the responsibility of continuing his father’s legacy by performing his music on the most important stages in the world.
Under the motto “Juana Díaz, live the tradition with faith and hope” were developed the concept and theme of the Christmas decoration, which year after year has earned the City the praise of the citizens. This year, the story of the Nativity was depicted through the different prints that adorn the gardens of the Public Square and the façade of the City Hall.
In the coming days, the artist will continue his agenda in Las Vegas Nevada to participate in the activities developed by the Latin Recording Academy, as part of the 22nd anniversary week of Latin Grammy, which honors the best of the music industry on Thursday, November 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
