The town of Saint-Esprit in Martinique inaugurated a “Maison des Écritures” on Thursday, April 23.
This venue, dedicated to literary creation, will host workshops, artist residencies, and gatherings. It will be managed by the cultural meeting center “Les Coulisses”.

“Through this dynamic driven by a strong political will, an ambition is taking shape: to make writing a vehicle for memory, sharing, and contemporary creation”, the city hall stated.
Alongside the mayor were several personalities, including Guadeloupean writer Gisèle Pineau, who came to present her latest novel, “Le journal de la fille-panthère”, on April 30 at the city’s media library.
