As part of the “Rendez-vous aux Jardins”, an annual event organized in France and the French overseas territories, including Guadeloupe, the Saint-John Perse Museum in Pointe-à-Pitre had invited “La Corda La /Cuerda La” to play live last Saturday June 2, in the afternoon.

About thirty children who learn the violin and cello in this music school, directed by Cuban Jacqueline Lopez and located in the commune of Baie-Mahault, showed to the audience (mostly composed of parents) the progress that they made during the year. For half an hour, these young musicians (and an adult) performed several compositions among them classics of Cuban music like popular song “Chan Chan” by Buena Vista Social Club with Compay Segundo and the famous worldwide hit “Despacito” by Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi.
