“Summer Love”: Nashoo’s latest track, featuring Supa Saa from Sierra Leone

The lyrics were written by Nashoo, the cover was designed by Jamaican artist Ceo Sturn, the music was composed by Joe Crack, a Sierra Leonean beatmaker, and the distribution was entrusted to DRS Ent. & Empire Records in California, USA.

Guadeloupean singer Nashoo is back with “Summer Love”, a song full of sunshine, joyful vibrations and positive energy, she performs with the “King of Dancehall of Sierra Leone”, Supa Saa.

On this 27th of May, the day commemorating the Abolition of slavery in Guadeloupe, we present the brand new title of the Dominican-Guadeloupean singer, Nashoo, featuring singer Supa Saa, originally from Sierra Leone, a Western African country, from 1787, welcomed freed slaves from the United States and Jamaica.

Nashoo’s nfrigidaireew song is not about slavery but about love. “I wrote the lyrics to “Summer Love” when I left London, where I had been living for seven years, for France. It was summer, I was in Paris and it was four years ago but the best moment had not come for me to record it, I have several tracks in my “fridge” that are waiting for the right moment (…). In “Summer Love”, it’s about two people who want to spend time together, it’s summer, the weather is nice, it’s time to meet people and have fun. This timing is good after this lockdown, people want to relax (…)”, explained the artist.

As for her collaboration with the “King of Dancehall” in Sierra Leone, it was made possible thanks to one of her fans on social networks: “Egerton, who is a Sierra Leonean music lover, put me in touch with Supa Saa and we decided to work together on this track“, she said.

The beautiful cover of the single was designed by Jamaican artist Ceo Sturn, the music was composed by Joe Crack, a Sierra Leonean beatmaker, and the distribution was entrusted to DRS Ent. & Empire Records in California, USA.

A true international artist

Once again, we see it : Nashoo is a true international artist who quietly leads her career with efficiency, from Guadeloupe, which may surprise some people.

Indeed, in 2014, after her success (with Haya) at the famous American singer contest which was taking place in the British capital – Coast 2 Coast – her song “Tsunami” was selected by the famous American rapper, Future, for his mixtape.

In January 2019, Coast to Coast’s boss, Lil Fats, opened the doors of his night-club in Miami, Florida – Miami Live – for her to perform with Reime Schemes. One of her duet tracks with this American rapper, “Thief ah Whine”, was also featured in 2016 on the famous American rapper Snoop Dogg’s mixtape, entitled “Tha Return of Doggy Style Mixtape”.

Nashoo’s songs are played by several radio stations in the United States, Australia and elsewhere. Last year, during her interviews in New York, the artist did not forget to talk about Guadeloupe to the media that wanted to know more about culture of this “French island in the Caribbean”. If the Comité du Tourisme des Îles de Guadeloupe (Tourism Committee of Islands of Guadeloupe –

CTIG) is looking for an ambassador to sell the Guadeloupean archipelago, the artist who speaks English fluently would be perfect in this role…
