Street merengue is painted with fresh colors thanks to “Abatido”, the song that brought together Puerto Rican artist Farruko with Jordano Luciano de la Cruz, artistically known as Makaco.
With an infectious rhythm produced by Richard de La Oz and lyrics by Makaco, this single manages to refresh radios and digital platforms with a mambo rhythm.
This collaboration was born, in 2018, after Makano approached the Boricua with the proposal and although at that time it did not materialize, a few years later, thanks to the approach of Luz Nelia Clemente, Farruko not only joined in this featuring, but also that before singing together, he recorded solo “No entienden”, another of the Dominican’s compositions.

“Farruko gave me the opportunity to share my talent with the audience not only as a composer, but also as a performer in the song ‘Abatido’, a track that was saved for a long time. I am very grateful for this opportunity he has given me. Farruko has shown that he is a faithful promoter of Dominican music”, said Makaco.

The Santiago-born singer started his career in music at the age of 13 with a group of friends singing rap. “That was not the genre in which I felt comfortable, but I did not have enough resources to record merengue mambo. In 2012 I met my producer Richard de La Oz and that’s when I recorded my first merengue. After that moment I didn’t want to record other genres”, he explained.
