St. Barts to celebrate Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday in 2022

After being canceled in 2021, carnival is back in St. Barts. For this 2022 edition, the former municipality of Guadeloupe, which became a French Overseas Collectivity (COM) in 2007 with a specific status, will celebrate Mardi Gras and Ash Wednesday only.

However, the health crisis has not extinguished the enthusiasm of revellers who were looking forward to this cultural event. Ten groups – “La Pointe en Mouvement”,Pineapple Girls”, “The Youngz”, “Island Vibes”, “Ti Ouana Salsa”, “Golden Feathers”, “Caribbean Girls”, “Nikki Beach”, “Tête Ensemble” and“NIB” – announced their participation in the parades organized by the Saint-Barth Carnival Committee chaired by Jocari Bapin. Note the end of curfew in St. Barts since January 31.
