The famous Haitian konpa band that was founded 59 years ago, will perform on October 10 at 8:30 pm at the Palais des Sports du Gosier, Guadeloupe.
Tabou Combo was formed in 1967 in Pétion-Ville, a town near Port-au-Prince, under the leadership of Albert Chancy, Herman Nau, and a few friends, all teenagers. In their early days, they were called “Los Incognitos” because they were unknown at the time. They opted for Tabou Combo in 1968 to adopt a name more in line with Haitian culture.
Nearly forty years after its creation, the band has been getting audiences dancing all over the world, from concert halls to streets and nightclubs.
In 1974, the group Tabou conquered Europe with the hit “New York City”, millions of copies were sold. Since then, Tabou Combo has continued to develop its international audience.
Tabou Combo captivates audiences with an irresistible rhythm. The konpa beat is contagious, and there are plenty of testimonials.
