Raffy Martínez, the new face of bachata that rises with his new single “Vas a dejar que muera”

The young bachatero launches his project with his orchestra, after working with major bachata artists.

With Raffy Martínez, bachata has a new generation who arrived brimming with talent, demonstrating his potential in his new single “Vas a dejar que muera”, an unreleased song written by Alex Durán.

Also produced by Durán, “Vas a dejar que muera” is a bachata track that opens the way for this young man entering the bachata scene with a quality project.

To this single is added “Lo pagarás”, another unreleased song written by the artist himself, who is emerging with strength and has quickly conquered a wide audience.

The musician, born in Boruco, a locality in Mao, Valverde Province, presents his solo project after a career path that led him to work with bachata great names such as Luis Vargas and El Varón de la Bachata—experiences that brought maturity and training to his artistic career.

His connection with the audience began with “El Mal de Amor”, a track that quickly went viral on digital platforms and helped establish him as a rising phenomenon in the world of bachata. He also received great support for covers such as “Si Me Dejaran Decidir”, popularized by Fernando Villalona.

Influenced by classic ballads and the great exponents of traditional bachata, Raffy Martínez has developed a style rich in emotions and authenticity, which has made him one of the fastest-rising and most widely recognized emerging figures among the country’s new generation of bachateros.

His musical journey began very early in a humble and authentic way. With no resources or opportunities, he bought CD tracks to practice and even went so far as to make his own wooden guitar, motivated only by his passion for music. Before dreaming of stages and microphones, he aspired to be a baseball player as a child, but over time, music became his true calling.

In January 2026, he decided to officially launch his solo project as a solo artist, quickly capturing the audience’s attention thanks to his voice, performance, and natural connection with people.

Described by many as “The Perfect Bachata Singer” for his romantic style and ability to convey genuine emotions, Raffy Martínez continues to work toward bringing his music to every heart and establishing himself as one of the most important new figures in Dominican bachata.
