Following the 2025 edition of the START competition (an initiative led by the Guadeloupe Departmental Council to support young talents), Viviane Pelus and Pauline Bonnet (members of last year’s jury) wish to extend the adventure by offering the five finalists in the visual arts category – Émilie Quinol, Tania Arancia, Franchesca, Océane Ssossé, and Shamika Germain, this year’s winner – new visibility through a group exhibition titled “Métamorphose” (Metamorphosis).

The “Métamorphose” exhibition is built around this concept, which refers to a process of transformation, of evolution from one state to another. A transition, sometimes visible, sometimes internal, that marks a profound change.

This theme resonates with their current situation: as winners of the START competition and artists at the beginning of their careers, they themselves are in a phase of transition. Their works bear witness to this evolution, which is both personal and artistic. Through their practices, each artist explores forms of transformation, whether they are related to identity, materials, experimentation, or the way they look at their own work. (L’Art s’en Mêle)
