Telemundo 47 has teamed up with Dominican singer-songwriter Cristian Allexis to pay tribute to the Dominicans and celebrate Dominican Heritage Month with the song “Herencia Dominicana”.

Written and performed by Cristian Allexis, “Herencia Dominicana” celebrates Dominican culture, its people, its customs, while connecting the Dominican diaspora with its roots.

This song was born after Telemundo 47 invited the artist, seeing in the singer-songwriter the ideal representative to convey the musical message they wanted to promote during Dominican Heritage Month.

“Writing and singing a song celebrating my Dominican heritage is one of the best things that has ever happened to me, and the fact that it’s for on such an important channel as Telemundo 47 and for my community in the United States, it’s extraordinary. I am very grateful for this opportunity, because the perspective that I have of the very essence of the Dominican will reach many more people, and it’s very important for me to proudly represent, in all its splendor, what a true son of Quisqueya is”, explained Cristian Allexis.

The song, produced by Anibal Coronado, features a video recorded in the Colonial Zone and locations in New York, and can be seen on Telemundo 47, which covers the tri-state area (NY, NJ & CT) throughout Dominican Heritage Month.

The official launch of the video took place on Monday, February 2, on the program Acceso Total at 11:30 am New York time, with continuous rotation on Telemundo 47 throughout the month of February.

Dominican Heritage Month is celebrated every year from January to February 27, culminating with the celebration of Independence Day.
