Jou a Tradisyon: a concentrate of Guadeloupean know-how in a Christmas market!

This Sunday December 15 was organized “Jou a Tradisyon” (the Day of Tradition). On this occasion, the new means of transport, Bus des Mers, launched on October 7, 2019 to ease car traffic congestion in Jarry and buses from the Karu’lis network were free to transport visitor-buyers to the Business Park in this industrial area. They were welcomed with music by a steel band orchestra at the entrance to “Jou a Tradisyon” which is presented by the organizers as “the largest Christmas market in the Caribbean” with more than 160 exhibitors installed over 15,000 square meters … Administratively, this event set up 16 years ago by the town council of Baie-Mahault is, since the vote of the Notré Law of August 7, 2015, coordinated by the community of agglomeration Cap Excellence but the organization and the atmosphere have not changed according to the regulars… We could find everything there to prepare a good Christmas Eve and the products offered to the crowd were made locally. These include books, jewelry, traditional toys, furniture, decorative items, liqueurs, juices, pastry, confectionary, ready-made meals, sorbets, medicinal and ornamental plants, fruits and vegetables, clothing, cosmetic products, meat, wickerwork etc.
