
From June 1 to 21, 2021, the curatorial agency Sour Grass, founded in 2020 by Holly Bynoe and Annalee Davis, presents 9 Caribbean artists at the “Atlantic World Art Fair” (AWAF). This digital exhibition has taken place on Artsy, it is the first time the international platform has hosted artists from our region.

These artists are : Franz Caba (Dominican Republic), Ronald Cyrille (Guadeloupe/Dominica), Deborah Jack (St. Maarten/USA), Abigail Hadeed (Trinidad & Tobago), Katherine Kennedy (Barbados), Lisandro Suriel (St. Maarten), Joiri Minaya (Dominican Republic/USA), Eliazar Ortiz (Dominican Republic), Samuel Sarmiento (Venezuela/Aruba).
During these three weeks, this group of contemporary artists will exhibit 36 works including paintings, photographs, videos, prints…
Live conversations are scheduled on Friday 4 June (theme: “Artists in Dialogue: Moving in, through, and across Landscapes, Waters, and Memories”).
Eight galleries from the region have been working with Sour Grass for two months to put on this exhibition : Black Pony Gallery (Bermuda), Frame Centre Gallery (Jamaica), Suzie Wong Presents (Jamaica), Gallery Alma Blou (Curaçao), Readytex Art Gallery (Suriname), The Olympia Gallery (Jamaica), Galerie Monnin (Haiti) and Terngallery (Bahamas).
